MS Office

Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook taught to a professional standard — including the Excel formulas and shortcuts that employers screen candidates on.

6 weeks Beginner to Advanced Max 25 students 4.8 rating

Most people list "MS Office" on a CV and then struggle with a VLOOKUP in the interview. This course fixes that. It is practical and exercise-driven: documents that stay formatted, spreadsheets that calculate correctly, and presentations that hold a room.

What you will learn

By the end of this course you can:

Format long Word documents that do not fall apart
Write Excel formulas including IF, VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP
Build pivot tables and charts from raw data
Clean and validate messy spreadsheets quickly
Design PowerPoint decks that are readable from the back row
Manage email, calendar and tasks efficiently in Outlook

Questions about this course

Office 2016 or newer, or Microsoft 365. Almost everything taught also works in Google Sheets and Docs, and we point out the differences where they matter.

Most students who say they know Excel have not used pivot tables or lookup functions. Weeks four and five are usually where they say the course paid for itself.

Yes, on completing the final assessment. Employers here recognise it, but the practical skill is what gets you through the interview task.

It covers the software side well. Pair it with our Freelancing course for the profile, proposals and client-handling side.
